We provide Specialist Advisory Hearing Impairment (HI) Support in the education of deaf/hearing impaired babies, children and young people in Bexley.
We aim to provide a high quality intervention service of HI support, information and advice to enable each deaf baby, child or young person to achieve their full potential.
The Hearing Impairment Support Service is part of the Specialist Advisory Teaching Service based at the Civic Offices.
Our team have specialist qualifications and training in the education and support of hearing impaired babies, children and young people. There is currently a Qualified Teacher of the Deaf and two Hearing Impairment Specialist Support Assistants working in our team.
Our involvement can range from visits to home or schools/colleges twice weekly, half termly, termly, to one annual visit or monitoring of progress via Audiology reports only.
