We are a second-tier community paediatric audiology service based at Acorns, Queen Mary’s, Sidcup.

We also run clinics at Erith Health Centre.

We provide hearing tests for children aged 0-18 years who have hearing difficulties including those with middle ear disorders and complex needs.

Where clinically necessary we may refer children to a tertiary audiology service, an ear, nose and throat surgeon or their GP.

We work closely with colleagues from other services including:

  • Newborn Hearing Screening Programme (NHSP)
  • Community Paediatricians
  • Health Visitors
  • School Nurses
  • Advisory Teachers for Hearing Impairment
  • Speech and Language Therapists
  • Ear Nose and Throat surgeons

Referrals for aetiological investigations will only be accepted from an Audiologist, Audio vestibular physician or an ENT surgeon after a sensorineural hearing loss has been confirmed and parental consent for the referral is recorded.
