A team of occupational therapists and therapy assistants who work with children aged 0-19 years.
They help children achieve or maintain their maximum level of independence and develop practical life skills to enable them to function and participate to their full potential in the home and classroom.
They help children to overcome their physical or other difficulties.
Staff work in partnership with the children's family or teacher, within Acorn's at Queen Mary's Hospital, in the home or school.
What we offer
The Occupational Therapy team work with all children referred in to the service. We work with pre-school and school aged children in mainstream Primary and Secondary schools. We also work closely with Bexley Special Schools:
- Shenstone School
- Marlborough School
- Woodside Colyers School
- Shenstone Early Years.
Within the specialist service of Occupational Therapy, we offer different types of support for you and your child/teenager. The focus is on functional independence in activities of daily living and learning.
Who do we see?
- Children from birth to 19 years
- Registered with a Bexley GP
- Attending mainstream Primary, Secondary or Special School in Bexley
Some young people aged 16-19 years who have left school are referred to adult services.
